For this tour wear comfortable clothing, shoes and be ready for weather conditions. Since we’ll be in the Andes, we recommend bringing:

Q: Is the Chimborazo bike beginner friendly?
The route is ideal for beginners or those looking for a scenic, easy ride. We do ask for experience with shifting gears of a mountain bike.
Tenga en cuenta que requerimos una estatura mínima de 1,50 metros (4,92 pies) debido al tamaño de nuestras bicicletas.
P: ¿Necesito experiencia previa en ciclismo de montaña?
The route requires no prior experience, but basic fitness is recommended.
P: ¿A qué altitud llegaremos durante el tour?
El tour alcanza hasta 5.100 metros (16.732 pies) en la Laguna Condor Cocha. El recorrido en bicicleta comienza en el Refugio Carrel, a 4.850 metros (15.912 pies), y desciende hasta aproximadamente 3.200 metros (10.498 pies) en San Juan.
P: ¿Cómo afecta la altitud al recorrido?
El mal de altura puede afectar a cualquier persona por encima de los 2.500 metros. Recomendamos pasar tiempo a gran altitud antes del tour y beber abundante agua. Nuestros guías tienen experiencia en reconocer los síntomas y ajustarán el ritmo del recorrido si es necesario.
P: ¿Qué debo llevar para el tour en bicicleta por el Chimborazo?
Lleve ropa abrigada por capas y ropa impermeable, ya que el clima puede cambiar rápidamente. No olvide protector solar, gafas de sol, cámara y una mochila para sus pertenencias personales.
P: ¿Hay baños a lo largo del recorrido?
Hay baños disponibles en los refugios Carrel y Whymper. Fuera de estos, las instalaciones sanitarias son limitadas a lo largo de las rutas de ciclismo.
