Tour Essentials

Tour languages: English & Spanish.

Average temperature: 12–23°C (54–73°F)
Expect humid and warm weather with sun and frequent clouds. Light rain or mist is common in the cloud forest, and the weather can change quickly.

Pick Up in Quito

Your day tour begins with an easy pick-up from the two main areas in Quito. Please look for our white tour bus at these locations:

  1. 07:00 AM – Desde Plaza San Blas Café Zular.
  2. 07:15 AM – Plaza Foch, en frente de Juan Valdez Café.

Note: We recommend taking a taxi to these locations. Your guide will be there to check you in and introduce the group.

San Tadeo Birding

Our first stop is San Tadeo, a paradise for bird lovers. You will see dozens of hummingbirds and exotic birds, you may even get to interact with them! While you enjoy the views and photos, a small snack of tea, cookies, and bananas is included with your entrance. Keep an eye out for the occasional butterfly too.

Chocolate Factory Visit

We visit a local chocolate factory where our guide explains the process from bean to bar. You will taste different flavors and see why our cacao is world-famous.

Zip Line & Tarabita Adventure

Next, we head to the adventure park. There are several options for different budgets and adrenaline levels. If you skip the zip lines, you can relax, walk around or get yourself a drink while the group finishes.

Our recommendation: We suggest the “Bundle” (approx. $23) which includes 6 zip line cables and the Tarabita to reach the waterfalls. It is the best way to experience everything for a good deal.

Tarabita & Waterfall Hike

To visit the waterfalls, we take the Tarabita across the valley, offering incredible views of the cloud forest from above. Once across, we start our hike along the waterfall trail. Your guide can show you the unique plants and birds of the area as we head toward the hidden falls, where you can relax or take a quick swim in the fresh river water.

Almuerzo típico ecuatoriano.

We stop for an Ecuadorian lunch (included) with a starter, main course, and a drink. Please let us know about dietary restrictions in your booking.

Return to Quito

We head back to Quito, arriving between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM at our original meeting points.

  • Heading elsewhere? If you are going to another destination, let our guide know. We can drop you off at a public transport point or arrange a private transfer.
  • Note

Our itinerary may change based on the weather or other factors. Your guide will always make the best decision for the group. All times are approximate and may be adjusted during the day.
