Our itinerary

2-Day Volcanoes Tour

“Two days, two icons—Cotopaxi and Quilotoa, yours to explore.”

Start and Pick Up

Today we will be visiting either the Cotopaxi Volcano or Quilotoa Crater Lake depending on your chosen starting date.

There are two pick up points:

  1. 07:00 AM – Plaza Foch in front of Juan Valdez Café.
  2. 07:15 AM – Plaza San Blas from Café Zular.

Please look for a white tour bus. The guide will be there with a list of names to check you in.

We recommend taking a taxi to and from one of these pick-up/drop-off points.

Cotopaxi Volcano Tour

Read the full itinerary on our Cotopaxi Day Tour page.

Our Cotopaxi day tour begins with a scenic drive through the Avenue of Volcanoes and into Cotopaxi National Park, where we stop for stunning views.

We then hike from 4,600 to 4,800 meters, with the option to continue to the glacier at 5,000 meters for an unforgettable high-altitude experience.

After a break at the José Rivas Refuge, we offer a thrilling downhill biking adventure to Limpiopungo Lake, where wildlife and panoramic views await.

The day ends with an Ecuadorian lunch at a local restaurant, with dietary needs happily accommodated.

After the tour, instead of going back to Quito, you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation in the area.

Overnight Stay

For your overnight stay, you’ll have a private room at either Casa Sakiwa or Casa del Montañero. Please note that dinner is not included, but breakfast will be provided on the second day.

In the morning, you’ll be picked up between 08:15 AM – 08:30 AM directly from your accommodation to begin the next tour.

Quilotoa Crater Lake Tour

Read the full itinerary on our Quilotoa Day Tour page.

Our Quilotoa day tour begins with a visit to a local market, followed by a cultural stop at a highland family home and the Tigua community.

We then hike down to the breathtaking Quilotoa Crater Lake, with options to rent a mule or simply admire the views from above.

At the lake, enjoy free time for kayaking or relaxing by the water before heading to Toachi Canyon for a scenic photo stop.

The day concludes with an Ecuadorian lunch at a local restaurant, with dietary needs gladly accommodated.

Return and Drop off

After lunch, we will begin our return journey to Quito.

If you’re heading south to Latacunga, Baños, or Quilotoa, we can drop you off along the way for public transport, or help arrange a private transfer (additional cost).

For those returning to Quito, we will arrive between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM. Drop-off will be at the same locations as the pick-up points.
